Samsung A42 badge issues

Not sure I'm in the right place. No board option for Samsung A42. So I got my phone 9/10. I installed Nova Launcher which worked awesome on my old Motto 6. Since installing Nova, I no longer get badge notifications for Gmail or for my voice mail. All other app badge notifications work except these two. All options show badge options are on. I have spent hours troubleshooting and even Uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail. Sent support ticket to Nova, and received the famous "it's not our problem. " Help anyone?
