Verizon to disconnect unlimited data customers who use over 100GB/month | Ars Technica

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

The very minute Verizon changes my unlimited data plan, is the very minute I will stop being a Verizon wireless customer!!!!!!

That is the choice Verizon is going to give you. Appears you have already made your choice. Unfortunately, I don't think you will find another provider which will give you the data usage you are now enjoying at the price you are currently paying. Good luck.Smiley Happy

Your choice is made, so time to move on. Verizon has to do what is best for EVERYONE & with enough users at this level, others accessing the same tower will likely suffer.

But WOW, 300 gb per month is an awful lot. Current wireless technologies were never meant to support this level of widespread usage.

i personally don't think this individuals running anywhere near 350g/month, verizon would never stand for it for $40-50/month.

t1, t3 maybe but not for $40/month.

I bet they are, there are some that hit a terabyte in a month. This new action is meant to stop them. Recent reports from Verizon are saying 1200 users affected, with a mean usage of 500 GB of those that will be asked to leave the building.

I understand this is frustrating for the old UDP users, but tiered data is going to be how it is from now on. All carriers are moving towards it, and it will be something that continues for the foreseeable future. Data prices have already started to drop, and odds are they will continue as the technology matures and we go to 5G and beyond.

But when you're dealing with something such as wireless technology, it's not fair for a handful of people to hurt everyone else's service just because "they can", or they feel like "sticking it to Verizon".
