How do I uninstall Kindle from my phone. It is an App loaded by Verizon and it will not allow me to uninstall it. It ask for an update several times a day and it will not update because I have never set it up. I do not need it, do not want it, and wish I could remove it from my phone. Thank You for your assistance...

You can't uninstall pre-installed apps. Just do all the updates and it will leave you alone.

+1 You can't Un-install the updates but you can't Delete it out of the Phone: it's part if the nice little app group that comes with the phone.

Duh, if it would let me even set it up I would, but it will not set up and it will not update and it will not uninstall. Verizon is aware of the problem but will not correct it.

If don't want to update the application, there is only one way to stop the notifications. You have to turn off all the application update notifications. Open the Play Store > press menu > settings > turn off notifications
Then you will need to get into a habit of checking the Play Store for updates on the applications that you DO use.

Ann i wanted to ask is there a way to turn off the notifications by individual Apps or when you do as you instructed it Will Affect all apps. I did know if there was a way or not to do it individually.

It affects ALL applications. That's why I added the note about remembering to check for updates manually.

Sigh. Welcome to our world, reji59. The problem with Kindle is true of all preinstalled apps. Some people find this to be no problem, some people find it to be pretty obnoxious on VZW's part. I'm one of the latter, but have come to the conclusion that there's no use fretting about it. I followed Ann's advice and turned off all update notifications. I just check in once in awhile to see if anything needs an update.

If you remove pre-installed apps, your phone will not do the OTA (over-the-air) system updates.
