Update Trouble

I'm trying to update my droid. I followed the onscreen directions to update to 2.1 but after following the onscreen instructions my phone will only cycle the word "droid" and the droid "eyeball" icon repeatedly. What am I doing wrong?

I had same problem.  Call Verizon and have them reset it for u. After they reset it, 2.1 will be installed on your phone automatically.
