I don't get where you claim it's false. You may be eligible for the upgrade but you wife is STILL under contract. You are simply trying to argue and get out of that contract by claiming buy one get one free. That's true if both of you are eligible, but only one of you is. The only way you're gonna get that second phone for free is for your wife to pay the ETF or add a third line.

Sorry for the delay in my response I did not have access to my computer.

I spoke with a rep two days ago and they explained that it is VZW policy in general that if the line is not eligible than the customer is not able to take advantage of any promotions.  I grudgingly relent, but as I state in the original postingI was wrong

Now I will start a posting for you guys to help me use my phone to post here because when I tried with the phone the victual keyboard would come up I would type out one word then the keyboard would disappear.

Now THERE'S an issue!..:smileyvery-happy:

I posted about this issue a couple of days ago and got this response that I haven't had a chance to try yet. I hope it works because otherwise one can't participate on the very forum that the phone is the subject of. (EDIT) Rather, one can't USE THE PHONE to participate on the very forum that the phone is the subject of.

Ahh, beat me to to draw...:smileyvery-happy:

And yes, it DID work. Except for the funny text formatting. Which is fine, at least I'm posting.

Also, it seems that one can choose the format for the message being typed at the moment by clicking the "Rich Text" or the "HTML" tabs at the top of the text box.

Thanx again, Somegirl

I would like to comment on this issue. I also felt that is was incorrect advertising as I could not read anywhere that both lines needed to be eligible for upgrade.

What i did was try unsuccessfully online and then after three very frustrating days called and politely discussed my frustration with this issue. They were so kind they updates my account to reflect upgrade eligible 1/2010 instead of 5/2010. I not only was able to upgrade but i got my new every two which I was only planning for 50 discount but i got the entire amount.

To make along story shorter I ended up with both eris and it cost me zero!!

I think the key was polite and patient as I have tried the opposite and verizon does not respond! I recommend calling free of anger and explain your very drawn out confusion and explain all you are wanting is the fantastic phone you have to be your wifes phone. Good Luck

poohcrazy... Common sense would tell us that you need to have both lines eligible for an upgrade... ? Every company does it, att, tmobile, sprint.. everytime you "upgrade" you have to be eligible... you just dont get a 500 dllr phone for no reason.... imagine if that was the case.. how glorious it would be..
