Verizon cloud restore fails everytime

I am attempting to restore my Photos, Videos, texts and call log from my previous phone on to a Moto z2 force.  It restores all the videos and all but 24 of the photos and but fails when it attempts to restore the texts.  I have cleared cache and data multiple times and have done 2 factory resets.  I would like to get my texts to restore not sure what else to do.

I have the same issue. Have been having it for several months. Says I have 94 text messages. I click Restore, view drop down notification bar, it shows 0 of 94 messages being restored, and a progress bar. It never downloads any texts, then it shows Restore Complete, but no files were restored back to the device. I have uninstalled the updates to the Cloud app, reinstalled, nothing. Done a factory reset on my phone without auto app restore. Downloaded the Cloud app and same thing. Is the Cloud going away with the sale of Verizon's Data Centers?

Have you considered backing up your photos/videos to Google Photos and your texts/call logs to an app like SMS Backup & Restore - Android Apps on Google Play ?

Rest assured, Verizon Cloud isn't on its way out, Chris1060. Getting your messages back is important. So we can better assist, what make and model phone do you have? Are you trying to restore through the Verizon App, the website, or the Desktop app?

Motoz2 force using the cloud app

I'm currently using the Galaxy S7 Edge. I'm an trying to reassure restore to the device using the latest Cloud app on my phone. When I login to My Verizon account online, choose my device, and then Manage Cloud, it shows everything except text messages. But when using the app on my phone, it shows i have 94 texts necked up. But can't restore nor view them online.

I am sorry to hear that this is still happening. When you backed up your text messages do you recall what text app you were using at that time? Was it the stock messaging app by Motorola or was it the one with a red icon that says Verizon Messages (or Messages+)?  Are you using the same app now?

That's a great device, Chris1060. The majority of my communication is via text, so I'd be lost if any of them went missing. When you're in Verizon Cloud in your online account, I expect that you wouldn't be able to view any of the text messages. So I can be sure that they're still backing up via the app, let's go through the steps in this link: Manage Settings - Verizon Cloud - Android Smartphone | Verizon Wireless

I am having the same problem. I have been trying to restore my messages to a Samsung Galaxy S9 for the last 5 hours. It gets varying distances each time but always fails before completing the restore. I had the same issue with my last phone a Samsung A42 5G a couple of weeks ago. In that case I finally got them restored after about 10 hours.

This software is very buggy and given that this thread was several years ago, it seems that Verizon is not very committed to fixing the issue.
