Verizon doesnt want to rectify the service issues here

Verizon has claimed device issues 3 time on my moto droid..and then offered to replace it with a piece of crap HTC, i told them no, that i would pay to have a new device, if they would meet me in the middle and split the cost... I know its not a device issue because its been 3 different units.  I offered to split half and half with them and they refused..

here is a copy of my complaint

one of the 3

Ive worked with this company on their service issues for months since i started service. their claims of reliability are false. I have called with voice and data issues numerous times. they have replaced my device 3 times and still claim it is a device issue. The issue still remains.. I have contacted numerous "supervisors" to no avail. I have offered to change devices but they want to offer me something less (or they call equal to) the Motorola Droid X2 which was a 600 dollar phone. Since this company offered a lesser phone, I offered to upgrade to a newer device that was over 200 dollars if I were a new customer. I offered to pay that if they would give me a credit on the bill for that amount. I have exhausted all resources on this. I asked to cancel the plan and they wanted $240 dollars. For what? The service that hasnt worked properly since i started it?. I have another provider for cellular service for work and have had no issues. but for some reason verizon cant get it fixed.

What kind of problems are you having?  I have a Droid X and since November I have had problems receiving text messages and phone calls and getting online.  The phone calls I will get 4 to 24 hours after I was supposed to.  It will show I have a vm hours after the call came in but doesn't show a missed call.  I'm on my 3rd phone now and it's still happening. They insist as well it's a phone issue but i don't buy that especially after having so many "fixed" phones from them.  I'm going to go into the store later today and see what they have to say.  We pay way too much for our service to not be getting what we pay for.

@supastarrdj try filing a report with the better business bureau. I have had so many issues with my service and I am always told the same old story that the phone is the issue. I have gone through a Droid 3, a Razr, a Razr Maxx and I am now on a HTC Rezound. All since March 15th. Still having the same signal strength issues and the data problems. So i feel your pain. Be stern do not give i to the tactics. get ahold of Corporate and demand a resolution or you will go to the FCC.  I wish you the best of luck.

I suspect that Verizon has changed something internally - perhaps something that passes calls/texts through other carriers - and it doesn't work (at least the way WE, the VZ customers) want it to work.

So, choices offered to me: Spend $100 for the "mini tower" to put in my house to boost my signal; spend more money to upgrade from Razr to Razr Max; wait for the software upgrade from Motorola that should be coming "any day now" (because it's a software problem in the Razr... oh, and in the Razr Max, too).

I ordered the "mini tower", but if that doesn't fix things I'll be going thermonuclear with Best Buy and Verizon and Motorola and with the Dallas Morning News Consumer Ombudsman.  This is just flat wrong.  And none of this stuff is cheap.  I'm paying a lot of money for service and technology that I'm simply not getting.

I hope someone at VZ is monitoring these posts.

Two things:

1) DON'T do the DROID X update. It will brick your phone and Verizon will not help at all. (tech support & in store)  The reps kept telling me "sorry for the inconvenience" but you can upgrade your phone.   My point is simple: prior to update my phone worked; after the update it is a brick.  They still offered no support and told me to call Motorola.

2) Big Red has been choking the 3G speeds to push people to LTE.  Our IT department has been monitoring the download speeds and they have been decreasing.

Good Job Verizon. Great tricks to phase out old phones and force people to upgrade.

VZW has a 'network extender', which acts like a tower in your home.  We couldn't make or receive any calls that weren't dropped.  Because I was a long-time VZW customer, and let them know it, VZW gave me the extender, which retails for $250.  Because the extender uses GPS and the Internet, for it to work properly you need at least 1MB of upload Internet speed.  I upgraded my Internet service and the extender works perfectly.  For me the only drawback of the extender is that it only supplies 3G speed.  I don't notice a noticeable difference in upload/download, and the dropped calls have completely stopped.
