Verizon is obsoleting the service the type of Visual Voicemail used by those phones. Depending on your phone model, there might other options open to you. See the earlier discussion in 'Bye-Bye Visual Voice Mail' https://community.verizonwireless.com/thread/912626

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

These "obsolete" devices are not getting updates of the operating systems because of how old they are. Newer operating systems have higher and higher hardware requirements. So these phones won't get the new os and won't get the new security protocols, which are being updated in things like the new versions of visual voicemail. Inclusion of these new security protocols are necessary for continued use of the Verizon network, so off it goes.

Skydivehal We certainly understand the importance of your voicemail features and we would not want you to be without it. In the case of the Visual Voice Mail I want to assure you that you will still receive your messages. They are available by calling *86 from your cell phone. I depend on my voicemail as I'm sure you do. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.  DeloresK_VZW
