Now that most everyone has their new Samsung Galaxy S5 have you noticed that VZW has crippled your phones by disabling some of the features Samsung put on the S5 to help give the phone the top technology?  Very disappointing to me as I was waiting for the S5 with 32gb internal memory.  See the thread below for links to read about it if you like.

I have been on line twice in the last 2 days with Verizon Support. They can't even tell from their end when I will get my S5 shipped it originally said within by April 11. Next time I get a phone it will be from Best Buy who apparently has S5's at their stores. I was warned by somone else not to pre-order but didn't listen. I wonder if it would be better to cancel my order and go to a store and see if I can get the phine quicker.

If the store you would be going to has the color you want (white or black) then I would do that and then you have your phone.  With the way on line is for you now, no one knows.  When you get your phone in your hands at least you can move on and hopefully enjoy your new phone.  I don't know about VZW corporate store inventory but I did near BB had good inventory which is what I would expect from BB.  I would call first though  Good luck with getting your new phone.

I ordered mine on Thursday and it said shipdate April 14th.. however when I got my confirmation email, it had no date on it.  It did say they would debit my account two days before shipping which would of been Thursday or Friday.. well, last night I chatted with a Verizon rep and she checked on my order and said it was processing and didn't have a shipdate... I told her I was given the 14th originally so she had me call a number when somehow confirmed my order and she came back and said the shipdate was the 14th... why I had to do that, I don't know...  But hope it does ship Monday.. I stopped by Best Buy this morning to check the phone out and OMG it is sweet!!!!!  Can't wait to get it.

I would cancel and just buy it in-store. I picked mine up in-store yesterday. Just call before you go to make sure they have it. Unless you're doing the BOGO, there's no need to pre-order when you could get your new toy today!

Verizon please pull you head out of your *** on this pre-order process... I spent a total of 6 hrs on the phone with a total of 5 reps now only to find out that my order that was said to be shipped on 4/11/14 (conf by 3 out of the 6 agents I spoke to) will now ship on 4/16/14, I don't care that Samsung( according to your agents) didn't provide enough phones to fill the pre-orders I am your customer take ownership of your misinformation. And don't even get me started on you IM agents... they are a joke...

I got yanked around left and right from Verizon on the preorder process.  I preordered on 4/4 about 15 minutes after it went live.  Then on the following Tuesday, I got an email from Verizon saying my preorder had been cancelled and to call them if I wanted to dispute it.  I called back and customer service passed me to the fraud department since they cancelled it.  The fraud dept verified my information and then told me that it looked like a duplicate application ID had been created when I placed my order.  He said not to worry about it because the order wasn't actually cancelled and he said it still showed active in the system.  Just to be sure, I called back two different times that day and talked to two different service reps that both told me that my order was NOT cancelled.  I thought everything was great.  The next day, I get an email from Verizon telling me that my order was cancelled and I could contact Verizon to replace the order if I wished.  Now I was pretty upset.  I called back and sure enough, the fraud dept had cancelled it the day before and didn't reprocess the order.  I had to replace the order over the phone on 4/9, which put me at the bottom of the preorder list.  I was livid.  The customer service rep I was speaking with told me she would upgrade the shipping to overnight free of charge for me that that it would go out on Friday and arrive Saturday.  I was ok with that.  I called back later to verify the shipping info and the customer service rep verified that it was supposed to ship on Friday and arrive on Saturday.

I thought everything was great until Friday came and I had no tracking info.  I called Verizon and the customer service rep said that it didn't ship and wouldn't ship until at least Monday and that wasn't guaranteed either.  I told her about the other rep saying the shipping was supposed to be upgraded to overnight and was supposed to go out on Friday and she said that wasn't correct and that it wasn't supposed to ship until Monday and that the woman who upgraded the shipping to overnight was not authorized to do so.  She said that once an order is placed, the shipping method cannot be changed without cancelling the order and redoing it (I guess mine was placed with the 2-day shipping). She said she was sorry, but she couldn't get it to me any faster.  My local Verizon store had sold out of Galaxy S5 units by 3 pm I believe, so going by to pick one up wasn't an option.  Our local Best Buy stores still had plenty of them, but their system showed that I was not eligible for an upgrade, presumably because of my preorder with Verizon.

The next day (Saturday) while I was away in a meeting, my lovely wife went to the same Verizon store just to see if by some chance they had gotten more units in and I guess they had gotten another shipment in between last night and this morning because they had some!  I wanted the charcoal black one and they only had two in stock, so I got one!  They couldn't give it to me until I cancelled my preorder though, so while they were doing all the paperwork, my wife had called Verizon and explained everything and cancelled the preorder.  Before she was even off the phone, the preorder was gone from the system and I was eligible for upgrade again, so I got my Galaxy S5 and walked out.  I know someone on here said earlier that you can't just cancel your preorder and walk out with a new phone, but clearly he was wrong.  This may not work at somewhere like Best Buy, but it certainly will at a Verizon store.  The moral of this story is, I won't be doing any more preorders with Verizon.

I'm connecting my S5 to my computer via USB, but it's not being recognized fully.  I've installed all the drivers that pop-up quickly before first connecting, yet the only thing I see in Windows Explorer when connecting the phone is SAMSUNG-SM-G900V but it's empty when I click on it.

Is there something else I must do?

EDIT:  Nevermind... after installing the Verizon drivers I see the Card / Phone entries underneath finally.  Confusing process that's not explained anywhere.

I understand how excited you are about your new phone pissedoffaboutpreorderprocess. I sincerely apologize if your phone will ship on 4/16; the orders are shipped in the order they are received. This means other customers were able to place it before yours was received. I assure you, as long as you received the order confirmation, it will ship on 4/16.
