It needs to be approved by the FCC before it can be approved as a compatible devices for either Verizon or Sprint or US Cellular or any other regional CDMA carrier.

Nexus 6p is also about half the cost of the Galaxy s7. It definitely is compatible with the Verizon Wireless network.

It appears by your generic statement that the Axon 7 isn't coming to fruition anytime soon if at all for Verizon. I know a lot of users on the ZTE community site have stated they are starting to look to other GSM carriers. I will have to consider the same knowing Verizon is boxing in their customers by not allowing certain CDMA capable devices to be activated.

If you are going on the basis that WCDMA is CDMA then you are wrong. They are completely different.
CDMA to EVDO
GSM to WCDMA(more widely known as UMTS).
The device will not work simply because it's no compatible hardware wise and not because Verizon is blocking it.
Under block C Verizon can't block devices that can work on their network, and Verizon has to give them source code to do it.

The Axon 7 is compatible and has all the necessary bands for CDMA. It is compatible, hardware wise. They are just waiting for approval from Verizon and will then need to do a software update for the bands to fully work with 4G.
