Why is it taking so long to get the note edge on the shelves?

I just spoke with a rep and was told to check back around christmas... That's a little ridiculous.  It's been about a month since the other carriers started selling them and it was shortly after the FCC approval.  Its been 2 weeks since the FCC approved verizon's variant, so what the hold up?

Verizon has no obligation to carry any phone it does not wish to carry. That is business.

When and if they decide to carry it, the news will be all over the web portal and on other web sites.

It's already been confirmed that they will carry it.  Just trying to figure out the whole process for getting a new device on the shelves and why is it taking so long.  I know its up to them.

Because it takes a long time to stuff it with all the VZW bloatware that we will have to run through hoops to get rid of, by first unKnoxing the bootloader then rooting the darn thing. Would buy a Nexus 6 if it had the replacable battery. Heck might vene buy a Nexus 6 and switch over to Tmo if this keeps up...

Yeah I know.  I still like verizon though.  You can't beat the  customer service ( in my opinion).  But getting new devices and firmware updates on time, leaves something to be desired.

I am getting pretty anxious for the note edge.  I have been eligible for an upgrade since the note 4 but holding out for the edge because I fell in love with about 3 years ago when samsung debuted a prototype at a conference. but I thought it would be made with OLEDs.

I'm waiting for the Edge as well.... I posted a question a few days ago regarding the launch and nothing. This is the same process we went through when the Note 2 came out... it was a disaster from the word go. Verizon was over a month behind all the other carriers, and then just days before the initial release date, they delayed it another week or 2.... it was absolutely ridiculous. This is taking the same path.

Verizon obfuscating a phone release? Say it Ain't so!  Come over here and cry and whine with us Nexus 6 fans that don't want to buy from the play store...  LOL

Apparently, the "all new and exciting, exclusive to Verizon" Droid Turbo is sucking up all available new phone press release energy from Big Red.  Once sales of that phone slow down a bit, maybe we can hope to get some news about these other flagship phones VZW has said they will carry, but won't admit it.

Google Play Store does not have the Nexus 6. I am very tempted to jump over to T Mobile to get an unlocked, no bloatware filled, no logo branded Nexus 6. So what if the battery is not removable... At this point I see no good reason to stay with VZW anymore.

The other option is the SM-N910VMKEVZW developer edition Note 4, but even that is backordered over at Samsung.

Hopefully someone at Verizon pays attention to the community forums.  This is ridiculous, they are almost a month behind other carriers and FCC approval was 2 weeks ago.  They are mass produced prior to FCC approval, changes are made to the devices only if FCC comes back and says something has to be changed.  This shouldn't be taking this long.  WHERE IS THIS PHONE VERIZON?  I have been on every carrier at one point or another, the only thing that keeps me with Verizon is the coverage.  I use my phone to run credit cards via paypal & quickbooks.  With T-Mobile and AT&T, I would be in a customer's home and have to go outside to run their card.  Getting anxious about wanting this phone.  I have been on the Note 2, holding out based on rumor of Samsung doing something like the edge for quite some time.  The Note 3, didn't really offer up much compared to the 2, and the 4 announced at the same time as the Edge, just made me want to hold off on the 4 as well and wait for the Edge.  STILL WAITING VERIZON, W.T.F
