I just updated to Kitkat on my Razr Maxx HD a couple of days ago. I am having big problems when I have WiFi and Bluetooth turned on...when I am connected to WiFi with Bluetooth enabled, it will work for a little while and then suddenly the WiFi connection stops working. It usually shows that the WiFi is connected, but I cannot access any websites, etc. If I try to connect to a different WiFi network (I have two at home), it won't connect. I've done a bunch of research on the web, and this appears to be a known issue with Kitkat. Apparently there is a conflict between the bluetooth "stack" created by Google and WiFi. I've done just about everything I can think of to fix this (as I often use bluetooth to play music I stream via WiFi -- or at least I used to). I've done two factory resets; I've reset my WiFi routers; I've changed the bluetooth device name via "rename phone;" I've turned off the visibility timeouts; I've repaired all my devices; I've turned on "keep Wi-Fi on during sleep;" changed Wi-Fi frequency bands to 2.4 GHz only (as some of the postings suggest that 5 GHz WiFi conflicts with the Google bluetooth). I'm probably forgetting half a dozen other attempts. My WiFi on the Razr never has a problem so long as the bluetooth is off. Once I turn the bluetooth on, within fifteen minutes the WiFi does not work.
I guess I'm wondering if others are successfully using both bluetooth and WiFi on the Kitkat upgraded Razr HD/Maxx HD/M series or if others are having the same problem? I know that I'm not the only one with the problem because there are posts already, but if others are NOT having the problem, I guess I need to order a replacement for my device.
Thanks.

ta900,
We understand how important it is to stay connected to wi-fi, I apologize for the problems you've had so far. Let's take care of this. Go to Settings>Bluetooth>Search For Devices>Disable automatic background syncing on your bluetooth device. You can also go to Settings>Wi-Fi>Advanced Options>Wi-Fi frequency band> Choose 5H only option.

I have exactly the same issue with my Razr M. Hopefully someone will monitor this string and they will fix this issue with the next upgrade. BTW, the issue only shows on my home network. Seems to work fine at my work network. I normally disable ssid broadcast. However, the only way I can get wifi to work now is to broadcast. Then I can only connect if BT is off.

Thank you for posting about the Bluetooth interference. I had the same problem with wifi connections on my Razr M while traveling, which is when the update happened. It caused some grief since I was also near the end of my data allowance - reminded me to be unhappy with VZ for taking away my unlimited data. Problem on work, home and hotel wifis. Doing phone reset worked, but only temporarily. Disabling BT will be inconvenient since I use it for handsfree phone use in my car. Hopefully, they will issue a patch quickly - would I got some notification when they do?

I had noticed wifi seemed to be a problem since the update last week but didn't realize it was just never connecting at all. Fortunately, I haven't been streaming music or tv. Choosing between wifi and bluetooth is unacceptable. I use bluetooth for music, handsfree and syncing an up24 I just got. Having to turn one or the other off is just dumb. Verizon needs to address this and reimburse people for any data overages this causes.

This is a horrible problem. They need to find an actual fix for this very soon. My data usage has obviously sky rocketed since the "upgrade" and i use bluetooth constantly as well for my headphones, Bluetooth over car speakers, and fitbit. every time the Bluetooth syncs with anything, wifi is disconnected and will not connect again until Bluetooth is shut off.
The other minor irritation is contacts no longer sync with facebook.
I was told i could do a factory reset when i called Verizon Support and if that didn't work, they could ship me a new phone. I declined both options - it's not my phone, it's the update. I'm not sure they understand yet that this is impacting a large customer base and it is a big problem. I certainly hope an actual update is available soon to fix this issue.

I am having the same problem. If Bluetooth is on, WiFi doesn't work. When I turn Bluetooth off, WiFi starts working again. Thanks to your post I discovered that this is a persistent problem, even after doing an FDR in an attempt to resolve the issue.

I'm having the same issue. Factory reset the device, but with kitkat 4.4.2 when I connect a bluetooth device my wifi stops working. As soon as I turnoff bluetooth or disconnect the bluetooth device wifi is working again.
