Hi,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 running the latest NC5 firmware.
My plan has Hotspot provisioned and works fine with my Verizon SIM.
Every time I try and use Mobile Hotspot with a foreign SIM (after verifying data (H+ and LTE) is working with new SIM) it attempts to do a Subscription check and comes back with an error.
Is there anything that can be done to have this subscription check bypassed? the foreign SIM I'm using permits tethering!
I'm running 4.4 KitKat NC5 so all the options I have seen before seem to be for earlier versions.
Thanks in advance

Good afternoon levilib! I'm sorry to learn of the issues you are experiencing with your foreign SIM card service and Mobile Hotspot feature. Mobile Hotspot is a service that is provisioned on your phone and then authenticated via our SIM card. Using a foreign card may impact some phone features on your phone, reach out to that SIM card provider for assistance.

Thanks for your response.
My carrier cannot help me and I believe them. This is clearly an issue with
the phone, specifically it's a software issue. The Hotspot app is
programmed to run a subscription check with Verizon every time the hotspot
is started. This subscription check (with Verizon) will obviously not work
when not using Verizon, so the hotspot cannot be activated. I tested my
foreign SIM using hotspot in another phone, I know it works, they say so
clearly.
Can anyone advise me a workaround to get the subscription check bypassed?
Or is there an alternative hot spot app that does not run a subscription
check?
Thanks

Hello Verizon customer service,
I have a HTC one M7. I am running into the same problem. This issue has nothing to do with the SIM card provider. Mobile hotspot does not work when you use a foreign SIM. This is a Verizon software/setup issue on the phone. Please check with your technical support and let us know how to enable this feature.
