when i did the last droid eris update (sometime this past spring) my phone only recovered about half of my phone numbers and all my settings were deleted and everything. is the 2.0 droid update going to do the same thing? if so, i dont want to install it, but it keeps prompting me to every 5 minutes.

A software update is not designed to delete your data information on your phone when the task is being performed. However, it is always safe to do a backup before going through the process, because there is a chance your information could get deleted.

And yet, the Eris update to 2.1 did because it had to replace so many parts of the OS. The current Eris update is only a maintenance release, so everything should remain (mine did). I swear, so many wireless employees on here have no idea what they are talking about.
