I am currently in Paris just for a week, have no international plan set up, my Mobile Data disconnected but still getting a indicatorstating Voice only Roaming is active and I am getting text messages! How do I turn this off? If i put my phone (Galaxy S3) in airplane mode then the Wifi won't work. I want to use wifi only - please advise. A reply email would be most helpful..
Thanks

NickinAtlanta,
I truly hope you are enjoying your time in Paris. Lets put a stop to these text messages. Given that text messages are processed through the voice network turning off data will not have an effect on the text messages. Have you tried to temporarily place a text messaging block on your line until you return? You can place a texting block via your My Verizon account http://vz.to/VLavJZ If you are unable to block text messages via My Verizon you can also reach out to our Global Support team at http://vz.to/1jgVJ5K
