I find that when I start typing in the letters of contacts my phone is very slow to display options and the whole process of selecting the proper contact and making the phone call is extremely slow. Does any one have any advice of how to correct this issue?

Hey there, dgorson! Sorry to see your device is slow to display. That's happened with my Galaxy S III as well as with most other devices I've owned. I can always resolve that with soft reset. I recommend that for you as well: http://vz.to/1cg0eHq. Try that, and then see if it's faster to diplay!
