I'm being accused. of sending fake text messages using some sort of app. Despite viewing my phone records they still don't believe me. My question is: if I send a msg with or without an app would i appear on my phone records? Thank you.

If your sending through an app, like Whatsapp or Skype, then it uses your data not your SMS. So no, it will not show under your texting records.

Hello Jacoby8585,
Let's help you undercover the truth here. There are various "spoofing" applications which allow to enter a phone number and then make a call or text in which the phone number entered shows up in the caller I.D.
As suggested by Ragdoll_Knight third party messaging apps would not show within your text messages records as these are data transactions.
