my samsung galaxy j7 was run over by car and cmpletely destroyed and i had the insurance on it. it says i must make a claim with assurion, but i think to replace it i have to pay deductible which i believe is $199 or more which i do NOT want to do since i am making payments on phone now. Can I not get a replacement phone that would be cheaper? and also if I have a iphone 4 that is not being used that a friend gave me. can it somehow be used for my number?

You can call Verizon and tell them about the iphone 4 and they can tell you if it will work on Verizon and tell you what you have to do to get it up and running

If you want to replace the phone, it will cost the deductible, and you will get the same model phone. You will still have to pay the original price on the phone whether you have it or not. It's your choice to get a replacement (same phone) for the deductible, or use another phone in it's place. Either way you still have to pay for the first phone that's now gone.
