trying to talk to customer service

Been trying to get ahold of a representative for over an hour now. I first held on for 30 minutes and then finally requesting a call back. I then receive a call back to be put on hold for another 30 minutes for a representative to come on. She then asks me for a call back number which I give.  then as I am explaining to her what is going on we get disconnected. wait for 15 minutes for her to never call me back. I am now on hold once again to find out what is going on with my account. This kind of service is not acceptable. I have been with Verizon a long time. May need to find a new provider.

Imagine as soon as you hung up on the phone with someone, your phone rings immediately after. Imagine this for a full shift and that's basically what's going on the other end. There's a good chance when that call dropped, another caller popped in immediately that this rep had to help.

Customer Service Rep

We apologize that your wait time has been longer than expected due to high volumes and reduced support hours. Thank you for your understanding. Verizon also realizes how extremely busy many of our customers are and we truly value your time. I'd be disappointed too if this happened to me. I apologize for your inconvenience. We'd like to turn this around and we'd be more than glad to assist you here. Since we will need account-specific details from you, we’ve sent you  a Private Message on this topic:

I TOTALLY agree with this.  Another customer said it was harder than reaching the Pope!!  Customers should bombard the customer service email writing how their "request call back" does nothing but hang up.  I have been with Verizon since the Rodney King riot when cell phones had their own purses (they bought out MCI), so we are looking at close to 30 years!!  But since they installed these useless automated attendants that put you in endless loops, and their call back request never works, mostly hanging up on you - I will be leaving them as soon as T Mobile offers a deal to buy out existing contracts, since I was tricked into getting a new iphone at a cost 'with credits promised' for trade in, that NEVER came.  You terrible, Verizon; and I hope your customers revolt due to your non-existent customer service!!
