I have rebooted, I have cleared the cache and the data... This keeps occurring and I end up having to do a factory default reset which erases all the programs, photos, and apps I have on the phone.

I am deaf and this function is vitally important to me for communication. Please help me understand what is happening and how to fix it? I am 50 miles from the nearest Verizon store.

Help had arrived! I know how important it is that we have a working phone at all time. Let's save you that 50 mile trip and fix this issue here. What zip code are you in? When did this issue start? Are you receiving any error code when trying to send/receive text?
