which phone has best mobile hotspot?

I currently have the HTC rezound (which overall I love) but I live in a rural area and use the phone as my internet as well via the mobile hotspot. I have a TON of connection problems, and have been on with tech numerous times. I have received new sim cards, replacement phones, etc. (connection problems are phone related, not signal. sometimes it just refuses to connect to my computer. its not from bad signal strength).

So I am looking into a new phone with better hotspot capabilities. I have looked for ratings on this and it seems to be a widely overlooked feature. There are ratings on every other aspect of a phone, but I want to be able to compare which phone has the most stable and fastest hotspot capabilities. I have had HTC for my past 4 phones (and I prefer them to any other) so was curious if the DNA or ONE (coming soon)  has better ratings on this (or get by for now and wait on Moto X or DNA/Butterfly 2). But if I have to get away from HTC I will. Asked a rep in the Verizon store and he didnt seem to understand the question (he also couldnt figure out how to remove my sim card. not the brightest). So what are peoples experiences with this?

Not applicable

I have a Motorola Droid Razr Maxx and the hotspot feature works perfectly in a 3G or 4G area.  I use it all the time when I travel with unlimited data and unlimited hotspot features.  That said, I see some people posting that they have issues.

I have a Samsung S3 and the Hotspot works OK as advertised.  I have also had a RAZR MAXX and it worked OK.  I work out of town so with the Wifi in RV parks being what it is I end up using my hotspot but lately I see many others using their hotspots as well which means the bandwidth is low if I see several VZW hotspots.

Hey crobot337!

I have to start by agreeing with you 100% that the mobile hotspot capabilities of devices is a widely overlooked feature. But we're going to do our best to set you up for success here.

Now, we do not have any of the specifications on the HTC One, nor do we know what to expect. You can however stay up to date at http://bit.ly/n5snpq for all news on this matter. Additionally, when it comes to hotspot capabilities, I have to admit that I'm from a camp that believes it's more in tune with the signal strength in your area. When trying to step away from this factor, reading up on customer reviews and ultimately experiencing it for yourself is the best option. Please know that with no matter which phone you get, you do have a worry free 14 day return period to get a different model. But, in the interim, don't hesitate to compare devices at http://vz.to/f9bMEc .
