Does anyone know if they make you pay your past due balance before allowing you to add a line like they do when you want to upgrade? I'm a couple days past my due date but I was hoping to add a line and preorder the iphone now.

I agree but there's a five day before it officially past due. But if you gave money for a phone you should wait because if need an araingement they don't like when people upgrade/bill to account/ add lines. Does your my Verizon say past due. If it doesent you can but I think it matters also when they send. If they try to ship and your past due they will cancel order. Pay past due first there will be an iPhone still. You don't want to be shut off or with financial. There not afraid to shutoff and if they do before they turn it on again you have to pay it off.

Not as far as I know. No upgrades, add a line, changes to the account (which would include upgrades and new lines of service), etc when past due. But I suppose anything is possible.
Keep in mind adding a new line of service is going to immediately tack on another month of service (for the new line, prepaid) And your next bill will show (prorated) 2 months of charges for the new phone, plus your existing charges your late on.
If you have the money to order a new phone, I'd probably use it to pay the past due bill instead.
