I know otterbox has the 4s case on their webite. Do you know if the 4s is compatible with the regular Iphone 4 otterbox case? Any other cases people are looking at?

So I'm not sure I'm going to even worry about a case. Although I suppose that having something to absorb the shock of a drop might be helpful. I just don't want anything that's going to add much bulk to my phone.
They use Gorilla Glass on the iPhone. It is pretty much indestructible. You can find some crazy videos on YouTube. It might crack if you drop it just right, but scratching it is pretty hard to do.
are you sure, its not listed on the corning website
It appears that Apple and Corning have not officially admitted that they use Gorilla Glass on the iPhone. Corning's website says, "Due to customer agreements, we cannot identify all devices that feature Gorilla Glass." iFixit's tear down of the original iPhone 4 identified the screen as being made of Gorilla Glass, and Apple's own promotional materials use many of the same descriptive phrases that Corning uses when describing Gorilla Glass. In any case, the iPhone 4's screen is made of aluminosilicate glass which is the same as Gorilla Glass.
but then ifit recanted

I didn't see that iFixit had recanted. Thanks for the link.

Yeah, my wife keeps her iPhone 4 in her purse with no screen protector along with all sorts of other crap and her screen is still perfect with no scratches.

I just checked out that case and I like it a lot. I have a question about it, though. How well does it protect the screen in case of a drop? Right now I have an Otterbox Reflex series and it has bezel around the edges of the screen that keep the screen from actually impacting the ground, but with the pictures on the Switcheasy website I can't tell if there is one on that case or not. Can you advise?
There is no bezel around the screen like the Otterbox. The case is exactly flush with the screen. I have always been worried more about scratches so I sacrifice full body protection for a slimmer case. I would consider more rugged cases like the Otterbox if I wasn't carrying insurance.

Yes but the form factor is exactly the same. Any iPhone 4 case should fit a 4s.

Even if that's true, it's irrelevant. This is a Verizon Wireless website so it should be understood without saying that we're talking abou the Verizon model only. A case that fit a Verizon iPhone 4 will fit the Verizon iPhone 4s.

I'm a newbie and the 4s is my 1st Iphone.
My question is this. What options are there for cases with belt clips? In the past, my phones would pop off the clip getting in/out of the car so I need something better. I like the Otterbox cases but can't tell if they would fit inside a belt pouch or if I can attach some type of belt clip.
Thoughts?

Forget the belt clip - too easy to fall off. Put it in your front pocket.

Yeah don't use the clip on your belt. I have yet to find a case where the belt clip won't fall off and this includes otterbox. However you can use the belt clip on your otterbox and just slip the clip into your front pocket. That works well unless you just don't like the idea of a clip at all.

Yea, I keep my blackberry in my front pocket. My concern is if I get something from Otterbox, Ballistic etc. Will it be easy to get in and out of my pocket. The reason I finally damaged the BB was due to me not using the rubber boot protector for the phone. Dropped it a few times.
Would need something easy to get in/out of front pocket and protect it "when" , not if, I drop it.
Any recommendations/opinions are appreciated.

I just pre-ordered my first White iPhone. Woohoo!
I wanted protection but didn't want to cover up the cool design of the iPhone itself. I have been covering my phones all my life and ruining what was meant to be experienced. However, I know I will inevitably drop it at least 100 times in the next year. So my goal is to find a balance of protection to retain resale value but also to enjoy the design of the phone, so keep that in mind while looking at my suggestions.
So I have gathered all the info into one thread, hope this is helpful to people in the similar situation!

I really like Seidio products. You can check out their full line at www.seidio.com, but if you want to order one see if you can find it at Amazon. They are usually much cheaper at Amazon than directly from Seidio. I have used their spring clip holster for my last three phones and have loved it. They sell holsters that work on your phone with no case, or with their own cases. Definitely check them out. I already ordered their spring clip holster for my 4S.
