I know otterbox has the 4s case on their webite. Do you know if the 4s is compatible with the regular Iphone 4 otterbox case? Any other cases people are looking at?

Yes but the form factor is exactly the same. Any iPhone 4 case should fit a 4s.
wrong
the verizon i4, was slightly diff then the att version
the buttons were moved ever so slighty
Even if that's true, it's irrelevant. This is a Verizon Wireless website so it should be understood without saying that we're talking abou the Verizon model only. A case that fit a Verizon iPhone 4 will fit the Verizon iPhone 4s.maybe. with the new having gsm and cdma onboard, which form did they use?
Several of the gadget blogs (Gizmodo and Engadget) noted that the cases for the iPhone 4 might not fit the 4S given the change in antennas and radios (world phone). Definitely make sure any case you order specifically says it fits the 4S before ordering.

What I'm getting at is Otterbox iPhone 4 cases are now universal, so no matter which setup Apple went with, the case should still fit.
Only thing that was moved was the silent switch, which was slightly lower on the phone. Otterbox got around this by just making the opening on their cases for the switch a little bit larger. So as long as it's not an old Otterbox that was just for AT&T then it will fit everything.

So I'm guessing the only way to know for sure is to order through Otterbox? What about the ones sold on Amazon?

I ordered my Otterbox for iPhone 4 through Amazon, it usually just takes a small amount of digging. I just searched for Otterbox Defender for iPhone 4 and found one that said it was AT&T and Verizon compatible. I also highly recommend going through Amazon for Otterbox. They're usually anywhere from 10 to 15 dollars cheaper the last time I looked.

This is right off the Otterbox Defender series for Iphone 4. This is why I ordred the 4S case. Not sure the 4 case will fir the 4s properly.
This case does not fit the white iPhone 4 or the iPhone 4S.
Our iPhone 4S cases do.

No offense, but you fell for a marketing scam and paid more money for your case because of it. The iPhone 4s form design is exactly the same as the iPhone 4. So, a case that fits a Verizon iPhone 4 will fit a 4S also. Otterbox wants people to pay full price, so they want you to think you need a new case. You don't.

It is pretty much the same but the 4s case has a wider area surrounding the camera/flash. This should allow you to better clean the camera lens. In addition, I know they added an additional lens and upgraded the camera....is it possible that the old Iphone 4 case is too small and will obstruct the camera view of the new 4s?

I ordered the Otterbox Reflex series. I don't want anything too bulky and this seemed about right.
I looked at the ballistic cases but they just weren't for me.
The next time I take a vacation though, I'm going to order a lifeproof case. I don't think I want one for every day use, but that thing looks amazing.
I also ordered the Powersupport Crystal screen protector.

I've gone with the Otterbox Commuter Series for 4s, as this is my first iphone. I really like the idea of having both the hard case and rubber shell without the bulkiness of the Defender series. The Commuter series also has a screen protector, which I like.
If I had a case from an iphone 4, I'd probably stick with that though. The only thing I didn't care for about the Otterbox Defender Series for the iphone 4 was that the area around the camera sometimes caused issues when using the flash--as in it created a weird glare. I'm not sure if anyone else had those problems. I'm hoping the wider area around the camera on the 4s cases alleviates this problem. Either way, I'm at no loss, as I didn't have a case before.

None taken. This is my first Iphone coming from BB so I didn't have an Iphone case to start. The pics of the cases look different by the front camera so I wasn't sure if the design was changed for a reason. I went with what was indicated for the phone I purchased. I hope they both work well for each of us.

My mistake. I was under the impression you already had an iPhone 4 case.

smitty, the iPhone 4 Otterbox cases said they didnt work with the white iPhone 4, I did some more searching online, apparently it had something to do with the proximity sensor, for some reason the cases were blocking them from working. Hopefully this has been corrected now that there's a white/black dual color launch

I'm a huge fan of plain, minimalist cases with the soft-touch feel. Anything which shows fingerprints is a dealbreaker, which eliminates most metallic and shiny plastic cases.
I have been using a Seidio Innocase on my OG Droid for the past 22 months and I love it; unfortunately the Seidio iPhone case is not quite as low-profile. It seems a bit more bulky and the design on the back is a bit much for me.
After much research, I have narrowed it down to the Incipio EDGE in Matte Black and the Incipio NGP in Matte Translucent Mercury
Gray. They both provide back protection, face down tabletop protection, and have a matte finish which won't show fingerprints. I ended up ordering both and will try them both out before making my final decision.

Thank you...the Incipio Edge looks like what I have been looking for. Most other cases seems to be more expensive with the features I was wanting. The Lifeproof case is what I keep going back to. I just have to decide if I want to spend that much money on a case.

Just an update. Based on other forums, it does appear that the 4s will fit perfectly in the Otterbox IPhone 4 Defender Universal series. Anyone hear anything different?
