Has Verizon or Apple given any statement as to why Verizon's Iphone will not get updated to 4.3? When I got the phone, I asked the sales person if Verizon's Iphone has less to offer then AT&T's Iphone. Of course I was told "no", different ios due to different radio. Just looked up the difference and Verizon's iphone has less to offer. Only 6 days into my 14 day no return window, would like to know if there's a solid answer as to why Verizon's iphone getting less.

Nobody knows for sure as to why Verizon was passed over for this update. There's a lot of threads here discussing it. If I was to guess... the most likely reason is that iOS 4.3 was already in beta for the GSM users when the Verizon iPhone came to be. So rather than delay iOS 4.3 for the vast majority of the existing GSM customers by hacking into this beta and adding support for CDMA, they decided to modify iOS 4.2 for Verizon and skew the iOS development lines into two (for the time being anyway). Yep it's disappointing. But after the initial shock wears off and you get used to this feeling of being blown off by either Apple or Verizon or a combination of the two, you adjust and realize that even though we're sort of number two over here at Verizon, the existing iOS 4.2.x on the iPhone still makes it a very good product and IMO one of the best (if not THE best) smart phones that Verizon has to offer (4G non-withstanding as I'd take my albeit slower 3G iPhone over the battery hungry 4G monsters currently on the market any day!). Unless there's a particular feature of iOS 4.3 that you absolutely need for some reason, the bigger picture is that the core functions of the two iOS builds are really not that different. I for one was simply miffed for no reason other than I wanted my iPhone to be the same as my friend's AT&T version. (yep... some of us are obssessive that way and if you're one of us, then take comfort in the fact that you're not alone!)
SO... hang in there, being you just jumped on board, popular opinion states the iOS 5 will be released simultaneously to all in the fall and all will be equal again in the Apple iPhone 4 universe (CDMA/GSM radio differences aside). Nobody knows for sure that this will be the case though, so choose at your own risk. Remember there's no perfect smart phone out there and this is an ever evolving market. I would base your decision to keep the iPhone on how it functions for you today and not what it MIGHT be tomorrow. Good Luck.
