I keep seeing the question regarding the roaming message when trying to make an outgoing call that states that the caller is now roaming and must call for a pin, can make a collect call, etc. But what I'm not seeing is an answer to the question. The responding reps want to know the zip code, etc., but no answer is given. I have an iPhone 8 and have been able to make outgoing calls from this area for several years. Clearly it's been a problem for many people for awhile. Not being able to make a call is unacceptable and I need to know how to fix the problem. Help would be appreciated.

We certainly want to answer and find the best means to resolve this roaming message you're receiving. The reason we do ask for a zip code to start is to check out the network in the area you're having the problem and to see if there are any known issues. This is part of our troubleshooting process, and like anyone trying to find a problem, we need to ask some diagnostic/WWWW questions to help us get that started. If you could share your zip code where this is happening, along with how often and whether this is happening more indoors or outdoors, that would be a great help.

My zip code is 04551. I use an iPhone8. I am no longer able to make outgoing calls, as I have always been able to do in the past from this location. I now receive a message stating that I am roaming and need to get a pin or I could make a collect call, etc. Totally unacceptable. I noticed that others have looked for resolution for this same situation dating back several years. This situation needs to be fixed ASAP.

I am having the same problem, as are others in my community. They keep mentioning Wi-Fi calling but I don't see how that's going to help me when I'm driving. I was also told that it's because I have no service in that area. Well apparently it's hitting a tower somewhere or it wouldn't be roaming. 🙄 I am beginning to wonder if they don't know what's causing it.

Dealing with technical problems can be a headache, especially if you are having issues making outgoing calls. We want to offer the support you need. When did the issue start (time/date)? What recent changes have you made (device upgrade, software update, etc.)? Aside from the calls, any other issues (texts/data)? ~Gilbert

It happens when we are driving in our local area. I don't know if there's any message on the phone itself because I'm not looking at it. I'm using my Bluetooth in my car. It's been a few months at least since we first noticed it. It happened to my husband first. Now it's happening to me too.

SOL500, it's important to us that you receive the troubleshooting assistance you need. I do see we asked you a few more questions a few days ago, to which we have not received a response yet. I assure you that our offer to help is sincere. Do you experience this issue when connected to Wi-Fi Calling as well? What signal do you see on your device when you receive the roaming announcement during your call? Is your device software fully up to date?

We want to help you out with your roaming issue. Is this only in certain locations, or everywhere? What kind of signal shows when you have this issue? ~Peter
