I am seeing sporadic activity with Email with my Gmail account. I will go hours or even a full day with no inbox activity (and I am checking status regularly). Then for some reason a bunch of emails from the previous hours or even a full day ago will all come in together. I sent a test email from my work and 2 hours later its still not hitting my Inbox. My iPhone 6 is completely up-to-date.

Do you have Gmail or the email app used set to sync on wifi or data only? What about refresh/sync intervals?

We want to ensure your email keeps rolling in, Southpaw9! When checking Settings> Mail, Contacts, Calendars> Fetch New Data, is general Push set to On? Is Gmail set to Push in the list of options? I am eager to see this resolved for you!
Thank you,

All I know is I did not change any settings when the problem started.
I saw a post about using Gmail app and it's working great so for now I'm
just scrapping the iPhone email app
Thanks!

It may be an ios 8 bug syncing Mail from other accounts. You are not the
only iPhone with the problem. Glad Gmail is doing the job.

PPlease, ditch the stock app, which doesn't give you any true gmail control.
get the free gmail app.
make sure settings allows mail at an interval you want .
