I have an Apple iPhone 13 Pro. When I am included in a group that is to receive a text message from an Android sender (or, possibly, if one of the recipients uses an Android mobile phone . . . not sure about this), I do not receive the message via the Apple Message app. Instead, I receive an email in my Gmail account. The "From:" address is the mobile phone number of the sender followed by @vzwpix.com. For example, [email address removed per the Verizon Terms of Service]. In this email will be a text file attachment. The text file is the original text message or a reply to the original text message. With the help of Apple support, I have double and triple checked each and every relevant Setting on my iPhone. Apple is adamant that the issue is with the carrier (Verizon Wireless). So, my questions: Why I am getting emails with text file attachments? Why am I not seeing these group messages (the original messages and replies) in the Apple Message app on my iPhone, MacBook and iPad? How can I fix this problem? Apple advised me to consult with a Verizon senior tech advisor to verify that my Verizon account is "provisioned" (his word) for SMS and MMS.
