iOS 10/iPhone 7+ constantly dropping service..

just completed 200-mile trip, all interstate with 95% LTE coverage.  iPhone 7+ would drop service every few minutes/miles (switching between towers maybe?).  Other devices on iOS 9. (6s, 6+) as well as MiFi were able to maintain continuous service.   Comparing coverage when service would drop showed iOS 9 maintained 3 bars, so not spotty coverage area.  Is there any way VZW could troubleshoot what happened and how to fix?  Has to be an iOS 10 or iPhone 7 issue...

I'm currently having the same issue with the Iphone 7.  Reset the Network settings and even replaced the SIM card.  Still experiencing the dropped service.  Not sure if this is related but T-Mobile users are having the same issue and APPLE released an update to the client services to 25.2. T-Mobile users were having the same issue and when they released this update, it seems to correct it.  My phone is running client services 25.1.  Maybe Verizon should get this update out quickly!

Same issue.  Contacted Verizon and Apple.  Verizon advised my coverage was "less than optimal" in my current area, except I was traveling (across multiple states and in places where my iPhone 6 and Verizon worked seamlessly).  Apple advised resetting and backing up from icloud OR replacing the sim card. I already restored the phone from an icloud backup when I bought it. I'm willing to try the sim card replacement tomorrow, but when not on wifi, the phone is almost unusable.

I am having the same issue with my iPhone 7 plus 256gb. I have a 6 plus that will have full strength LTE service and my iPhone 7 will lose connectivity and say "no service" while I am driving. I found I can restore it faster by switching airplane mode on, and then off, but this is extremely frustrating and I'm not sure if its just coming back on after moving out of the particular service area (antenna). I updated the SIM to the brand new one that came with the phone (I originally just transferred the one from my 6 plus into the 7) and was super careful to not touch gold contacts. I also reset network settings and did a full restore of my computer back-up image. I would be interested to see if anybody was able to resolve by just doing a fresh wipe and not restoring from an old backup. Please keep us informed because this is a significant issue.

I have the same problem, where I will drop from LTE to 3G or 1x fairly frequently in Scottsdale, AZ.  Occasionally get No Service too.  Already swapped out the SIM card on Monday.  Still having the same issue.

CHRGUE33,

I always want to make sure you can use your phone and stay connected! That is incredibly important. What is your zip code? Are any other users having this trouble?

Andrew:

See my original post regarding this issue.  I have been experiencing the dropping from LTE to 3G to 1x since the day I received my iPhone 7 on launch day.  I went into the Verizon store in Scottsdale, AZ and was able to show them the issue.  They felt it was the SIM card, so they swapped it out for a new one.  It did not resolve the issue.  So, I did a Reset Network Setting in General settings on the phone.  Still no luck fixing this issue.  I called Verizon support on Thursday to report the problems.  I was told I would get a text with a ticket number, but never received anything.  I went to the Apple Store at the Scottsdale Quarter yesterday (Friday) and showed them some screenshots of it happening outside the store.  As a result, they ended up giving me a new iPhone.  However, the problem still persists.  At this point, I can tell you it happens throughout Scottsdale, AZ (85260, 85255, 85251 are the local places I have been over the past week).  Furthermore, I was in San Jose and Palo Alto Monday to Wednesday this week.  I did not notice/see it happening once during that trip.  Not sure if this is a problem with the modem, carrier settings, iPhone software/firmware.  My wife's iPhone 6 does not exhibit any of these issues.

Any help you can offer would be great.

Thanks,

Chris

I am having the same exact problem, in New Jersey, my son and I both got our iPhone 7 the same day, he is in Boston and has the exact same issue. Verizon initially said there was no problem, then they said it was the SIM card, replaced the SIM card, my son went to Apple, they replaced his phone, no resolution to the problem.  I suffer drop outs and loss of network constantly.  Verizon should send a string and two tin cans, it would be better than this.

Hey,

I just signed the petition "Verizon: Get verizon wireless and apple to fix the iphone 7 dropping service issue" and wanted to see if you could help by adding your name.

Our goal is to reach 100 signatures and we need more support. You can read more and sign the petition here:

To add to CHRGUE33's post, I've had the same issue.  It doesn't come down to a problem in specific zip codes, it is a problem anywhere I go with my phone (i.e., NJ, CT, NY).  I contacted Verizon for trouble shooting and they said it was a low service/reception problem, but that showed me they didn't listen to my actual description of the problem. This problem happens no matter where I am and it did not happen with my previous iPhone 6s on iOS 9 in many of these same places.  I contacted Apple and they advised getting a new sim card, but that didn't work.  Restoring the phone didn't work.  Resetting network settings doesn't work, and even some of the temporary fixes in this forum don't work for me.

I keep getting the same canned response from Verizon (i.e., "Whats your zip code. It's important that you are connected.").  If that's true, then someone should be contacting us to troubleshoot this.  I switched from ATT to Verizon for improved service, but it's worse.

I should add that this problem did not exist on my iPhone 6S using iOS 9 or iOS 10.

I have this exact same problem in the Phoenix metro area also on my iPhone 7 (not plus). I live out in queen creek  (85142) but commute to an office by sky harbor (85008). Multiple times per day I will pick up the phone and it's in no service. Much more frequently it drops from LTE to 3G. 90% of the time I check it it's either in 3G or no service. Went to apple last night and they want to replace the phone but it's a jet black one and no stores have them in stock right now, but it sounds like a replacement might not fix it. It's possible we got a couple with manufacturing issues I guess. I never had this issue with my 6s. I am going to try disabling LTE for voice but I agree with everyone else this is not the long term solution.

Justinwjones - We strive on providing you the best cellular service everywhere you go. I have taken a look at the Phoenix and Queen Creek, AZ  areas and found no issues or outages to report. I am sure we can find the root cause of the service issue you are having and get your service back on track. When did the service issues begin? Did the Apple representative say why he suggested a new replacement device?

Oh my god! I thought i was losing my mind or worse have a virus. I was given this iphone 7 by my daughter. I have exactly the same issues and have gotten the same run around with Verizon. Whats funny is that my loss of signal has a time schedule. I can almost set my watch to it starting at 7 am till 11pm. Nothing fazes it. No signal.

Hello Andrew,

I'm also experiencing the same exact issue going from LTE->3G-> 1X. I was missing calls and not getting texts. 4 hours of trouble shooting between VZW and Apple including wiping the phone clean and starting again and nothing worked.  Finally I switched to my old 6S SIM card in the new 7 and it seemed better until the next day I noticed I spend most of my time in 3G. I noticed on another post the carrier setting of 25.1 may be the issue. My cousin has the 7plus with carrier VZW carrier 25.2 and says he has no problems at all. They're sending me a new IPhone 7 tomorrow because in addition to this issue the GpS signal goes in and out and I need to restart my phone at least 6 times a day. Unfortunately after reading other posts I'm not sure a new phone will fix the key signal issue.

Is he on Verizon or T-Mobile.  They updated T-Mobile to 25.2, but I am not seeing anything indicating Verizon is above 25.1

He's on VZW but just spoke with him again and hes a apple public beta tester so he said that might have rolled through on a Beta update for him. He's going to check and let me know.

Also just saw this article:

http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php/1887780-iPhone-7-poor-LTE-signal-loss-of-signal

seems like it's a wide spread issue that Verizon and apple are trying to figure out.
