Is anyone else experiencing poor service on Verizon with the iPhone 6? We just switched from AT&T on both our lines to iPhone 6 on Verizon and we have dropped more calls in the past 24 hours then the past year on AT&T. We have switched the VOLTE off as well and the same issue. They say we are in strong LTE signal in zip code 85024 however, we are mostly on 3g or 1x. I have reset network settings and removed the sim. Any ideas?

I bought a 6 and a 6 plus, both in Volte mode, and LTE all the time. The 6 did have an issue today of only being able to call out but not receive. The iPhone Reset Network Settings cleared that.

CoreyPHX,
That's an amazing new phone you have there and we'll make sure you can enjoy it. As Weth suggested, have you tried Resetting Network Settings? This can help resolve many issues like this. You can find the steps here: http://vz.to/1ponrwi

Yes I have reset the network settings on both phones previously and the issue still occurs. It seems that in many areas of Phoenix I am good with 2-3 bars of LTE. However, near my house and the few miles approaching the service seems to be a an issue. We are thinking of returning the phones, but we dont want to pay $35 per device since we were promised we live in great LTE coverage.

CoreyPHX,
Thanks for giving that a try. We'd like to look a little closer in your area to see if there's anything that can be done before you think about returns. Do you have any main cross roads we can reference? Also, if you have any friends or family members with Verizon service do they experience the same thing around your home area?

The crossroads are Mine Creek Road and Cave Creek Road in zip code 85024. I have friends that live about 2 miles down the road with no issues at all. I switched because I would occasionally drop a call on AT&T but have already dropped more on VZW in 2 days then the last year on AT&T. I am really hoping to get things working! Ive heard great things about Verizon.

CoreyPHX,
We're hoping we can get them working too! Do you know, if you are visiting your friends, does your service improve? I'm trying to figure out if this is an issue specific to your home area or with the phones themselves.

Last night we drove to Jomax and 40th street in the 85050 zip code. We dropped calls twice in that few mile drive. I am at work now at Scottsdale Road and Greenway in 85254 and have decent coverage but seem to lose signal slightly more then when I was on AT&T switching to 1x.

I also live in the Phoenix area and switched to an iPhone 6 from an unlimited data plan on AT&T. The new service is disappointing as I work around 44th St and Camelback. Service is bad in office buildings and restaurants. The phone switches out of LTE and phone calls sound like the old cellular days.
I have reset the network settings...some people have said to switch LTE to data only, but I thought this VOLTE was supposed to be an improvement? Has this been looked into any further??

VoLTE is an improvement, but this is version 1.0 and the bugs are getting worked out as it is rolled out on a large scale. Eventually all calls will be VoLTE, until then, if it is causing more problems than it is worth right now, switch LTE to data only instead of voice & data.

I'm extremely loyal Verizon customer have been with them for as long as they've been in existence. I've also been loyal iPhone customer for as long as Verizon has had the iPhone. I've been experiencing poor call quality and numerous dropped calls since purchasing my iPhone six. I actually purchased several iPhone 6 for my staff. I've gone as far as purchasing a network extender so the phones are usable at the office. I am in Las Vegas the ZIP Code is 89149 Near Ann Rd in US 95. I hope that Verizon and Apple get this worked out. I always used to make fun of all the other carriers and told all of my clients and coworkers and employees that the only Service worth having was Verizon. I'm sure this will get worked out but it is sure been disappointing so far. I probably will need to order a network extender for my home if this issue does not get resolved soon.

I've noticed that if you turn off LTE for voice and data and just use it for data then the dropped call issue improves. It is a disappointment to me because ive been waiting a long time for the talk and surf feature to come to the Verizon IPhone. Now that they say it's here we still can't use it. Really I only dropped calls when I was driving, not while sitting still. I've been reading that the voice over LTE is still pretty new to verizon and will improve in time. Just like when LTE first came out it wasn't everywhere. Only time will tell I guess. I can deal with it thru the end of my contract and decide what I will do at that time.

Verizon Wireless Customer Support - My iPhone 6 plus keeps dropping LTE in Portsmouth, VA on the Coast Guard Base zip code 23703. Is there anyway to get the towers updated or add more coverage in this area? I have tried to reset the network settings, rebooted my phone and nothing has worked. Sometimes it loses all data connection all together here.

skullbuster,
I'm definitely sorry to hear you've been having trouble getting a strong signal! We definitely want to make sure your phone is working great for you! I've been checking and I see that 23703 covers a large area, parts of which are in the extended network. Plus, you mentioned that you are near the Coast Guard Base. The equipment and devices used can interfere with the signal, so we'd like to address this and find a resolution. Can you supply me with 2 cross streets in the affected area so I can check it out more closely?

I am having the same issue with the 5s. We have two of them and all of a sudden 2 days ago we are getting poor reception everywhere on both. Ive spent a couple hours on the phone with verizon and replace sim card yesterday, did not fix it. I have been with verizon for a long time and have always had great service when others dont, and now ive got my foot in my mouth! Because it happened 2 days ago on 2 of our phones I cant believe its a software issue but verizon is telling me there is no service issues reported! Hope we get some answers soon.

I am in 94555, East Bay Area and have similar problems. I have never seen more than 3 bars. Typically 2 bars. It switches to 3G or 1x automatically and text messages take an age to go thru. Disabled VoLTE and still no resolution. Voice sounds so distorted to the other party. I never had these issues when I was with att. Wondering whether I made the right move In switching to Verizon.
is anyone in VZW listening?

You definitely made the right choice with us Satishk23. Are issues just inside or outside? How long have you had issues with service?

I am also having very poor service in Downtown Los Angeles with my new iPhone 6, where I previously had excellent reception with my iPhone 4,5 and my wife's iPhone 5s. The wifi connection is extremely poor as well on Speedtest app. I'm not sure if this is an iOS 8 problem or specific to iPhone 6. I've even had Apple give me a replacement handset and exactly the same performance! I'm growing increasingly frustrated and am considering T Mobile as I can get calls over wifi to counteract the poor service.

Dropping calls like crazy today. This has never happened on my iPhone 5 or 4. I reset my network settings. I will be on a call and all of a sudden the called failed. Whats going on? This just started happening today. Friday through Sunday it was perfect.

Skidog, where are you located? Have you tried turning off the advanced calling 1.0 under cellular menu by choosing data only under LTE and if so is it still occurring?
