I just recently purchased the iphone 6 and love it! One thing that bothers me is that when i add the feature "advanced calling", which enables my phone to use data while on the phone, my ringback tone feature is taken off my account.
Is there any way around this problem?

This statement is from the Verizon website:
Any Verizon customer with a compatible phone and a postpaid calling plan is eligible. Please note that the following features are currently incompatible with Advanced Calling 1.0: Ringback Tones, Slacker Radio Tones, and Caller Name ID. Additional incompatible features apply for Business and Government customers.
So, currently no. Hopefully this will fix when they come out with the next version.

And that is why I will be returning my Note 4 Edge. Terrible feature loss IMO. I had about $20 in ringback tones that were lost because I had to upgrade to advanced calling in order to have data and voice at the same time. My galaxy S4 had that feature plus ringback tones. I want them back!

At least you're having some luck with Advanced Calling. Here in my area it isn't that great. The phone has a hard time keeping a signal when it moves from tower to tower. I've had full bars of LTE and the call will just drop. Went back to LTE for Data only and all is well. I've give it another try once they make some advances in the technology...or at least in my area.

I don't think that ringback tones can be used on AC due to it being more than just a standard ring, in that it is a specialized ring that works differently, and given AC works with voice calls differently, this may be an over-simplified explanation.
