I Have the iPhone 6, I'm using the old *86 to retrieve my messages. How do I put my password in so it automatically does it each time? Without having to try the password every time I check my voice mail?

The commas are pauses. Basically you are changing the number from *86 into
*86 pause pause PINN #
Some people use 1, 2, or 3 pauses or in this case commas.

SSorry I asked, having one heck of a time. The iPhone says, your pass word must contain 4-7 digits.
I have tried, *86 73, and still receive invalid Message?

Enter your voicemail PIN number, typically 4 digits. Perhaps the iPhone voicemail system works differently.
It is stored automatically in the Verizon iPhone as well. It is access via the Settings app > Phone > Change Voicemail password.
I also see some people use a "p" in place of a comma for a "pause."
How to Automatically Sign Into Your Verizon Voicemail: 6 Steps
I also thought the i6 used visual voicemail instead of basic voice.

I'm sorry to see you had these problems with your voicemail BurgieBill. All iPhones use visual voicemail, which is why you're not able to change this setting. By using visual voicemail on your iPhone, you won't have to change the settings. Once you use your password, it will bypass it going forward.

We appreciate you trying all the steps that Snn5 was sharing, BurgieBill. It was definitely the right path! So just to be sure, when you are checking your voice mail by dialing *86 are you manually dialing that number then pressing send or do you have it saved as a contact? And if you dial into your voicemail, are you able to manually enter your voice mail password to listen to your messages successfully?

The last 2 VZW rep responses contradict each other in terms of checking voicemail on an Apple device. Visual voicemail is standard or is there the option to dial *86?
