Battery life

My iphone 5c barely holds a charge & not due to upgrade until 12/22 but thinking of switching to Sprint for a new phone if this doesnt get resolved

Have you tried contacting Apple or an Apple Store or even Verizon about perhaps a defective battery and the warranty thereof?  This is assuming you have taken proper steps to control screen, app, and data usage.
