Can't send text messages abroad

I can't seem to be able to send text messages to the UK from the US.  I can receive them and call and receive phone calls from abroad, just no texts from me are delivered.  I have an iPhone 6.

What format are you using? (don't give the persons number away, but you can give everything up to the last several digits)

Does this also happen if you reply to the incoming text? The format is always the same as the outgoing call.

Try deleting the contact and storing it again from the incoming call or message.

Thanks for your help!  I have tried both +44 7xxxxxxxx and 011 44  7xxxxxxxxx and yes I have tried replying to an incoming message and it is the same problem.  I tried deleting the contact and that doesn't work either.  I have phoned one contact from the contacts list and that works fine.

Do you have international texting blocks on the account?  Might not be the case since you can get them, just not send them.

We are here to help you also. It is odd that you are not able to send text to the international number but can receive them. What exact message do you receive when you try to send the text? Have you previously been able to send the text message to that number?

Thanks for getting back to me.  I don't get any message when it is sent, it looks like it has gone but doesn't seem to be received.  This is a new phone (two weeks old) I haven't been able to send texts abroad since I have had it.   Thanks!

I don't get any message, it looks like it goes but is never received. I have tried two numbers - UK mobile - and neither have been received. Any help appreciated.

When sending a text to a number in the USA, start the number with a Plus one (+1) then the rest of the 10 digit number.

If you are using i-message, your roaming data needs to be on for the i-messaging to work.
