Constant issues with 6s Plus 64GB

Ever since I ordered this phone and recieved it I have had issues with it. From not having service when I should to the Home button being too sensitive and Siri coming on and then getting stuck in Siri because the home button keeps "clicking" too much. Most recently my iPhone got stuck in headphone mode and I couldn't use the phone much. Thankfully I woke up this morning and it was out of headphone mode. I was wondering if any of this would be covered under my one year warranty or am I just stuck with this until I can upgrade?

I have kept very good care of this phone and would like to resolve this without paying out of pocket

Unless you caused physical harm to the device, such as dropping or water damage, what you describe is covered under Apple's 1 year warranty.

I strongly suggest you work through Apple with an Apple device less than 1 year old. If you have an Apple store near you, take it there. If it is truly a defect, you won't owe anything and Apple will replace the phone.

Again I would work through Apple and not Verizon, even if Verizon is 1 block a way and the Apple Store is in the next county 45 miles away. If the Apple store is too far away, start here: Contact Apple Support

ADRY27, I would 100% agree with what Weth wrote. I have a iPhone 6s Plus 128GB, which was accidentally damaged, so of course I had to pay for the repairs. But was so glad I went to the Apple Store. All they work on is Apple computers, tablets, iPhones, iPods, and are great at it, also if anyone else works on the iPhone other than Apple it will void the warranty.

My daughter dropped her phone in the pool yesterday. Put in rice but still not working. I have the insurance on phone but should I go to Apple Store, or just file a claim with assurion?

I'd give it another day or 2 in the rice before giving up. 24 hours may not be enough time to dry out completely.

Snice this is damage, your Apple warranty will not help, unless you had Apple Care Plus added to your phone when you bought it. If you have that, definitely go through Apple. If you don't, your cheaper options is paying the co-pay with Asurion.

STEVENB120, as already mentioned Apple warranty covers only manufacturer defects. I had a cracked screen repaired at the Apple Store for $149 if I had Apple Care the repair would have cost only $79, which next time I'll certainly purchase Apple Care for $99.

I have Assurion insurance if I had used that there would have been a $200 deducible for the iPhone 6s Plus 128GB along with the risk of getting a refurbished iPhone. One benefit of Assurion is that loss & theft is covered, which is not with Apple Care.

I'd stop by an Apple Store just the same to see what the repair would cost versus using the insurance. In my case the deductible would have been more than the repair. I have no idea what the cost of water damage is. But was told by Apple the most expensive repair is damage to a motherboard. Good luck post back with how things turned out.

There is no "risk" of receiving a refurbished iPhone, it WILL be a refurbished iPhone. Your phone is used; why should it be replaced with a brand new one just because you paid a deductible? Even your car insurance states that parts can be used or remands tired af a collision. your car is used you don't get a brand new one.

pherson,  After reading the horror stories here about iPhones sent from Assurion that were refurbished. Common sense told me rather than send a perfectly good working iPhone 6s Plus 128 GB along with $200 to Assurion over a cracked screen. It seemed more sensible to have Apple Store do the repair for $149, in 1 hour by just walking in. Along with running diagnostic test and re-calibrating the screen, which is important and Apple as far as I know is the only one that has the tool to re-calibrate iPhones properly. After the repair and" because of re-calibration" the touch screen worked better than before the screen was cracked. So the decision wasn't based on getting a new iPhone, I'll do that when the iPhone 7 is released.
