Deleting mail from iPhone (5S) does not delete Verizon pop mail from server. Yes, I have checked the choice >delete from server>when removed from inbox without success. I have read on the net about IOS mail not deleting from servers using pop mail like Verizon, unlike IMAP. I don't see anything recent here or on the net; is it just a dead and hopeless issue? thanks.

Hmm, that's odd let's look into this further. What email are you looking to use? Is your software up to date? Check your software by going to settings, general, software update.

Karen, I appreciate your reply. Yes my software is up to date, iOS 8.3. This is a long-standing problem. My email is [removed]
Note that deleting email on my iPhone DOES delete email from the server when I am using my gmail or my university .org email.

You're very welcome, that's what we are here for. Have you tried deleting the actual email account off your account completely and then readding it? Have you contacted Verizon Support for additional email support? Have you tried adding a third party (email) application to use with your email account?

1. I just deleted the account from the phone, put it back, deleted something, opened my Verizon netmail on computer: still there.
2. No I have no contacted Verizon support....I will.
3. A third party application: no; what do you recommend?

I regret the inconvenience this has caused! It would be best to get all the proper server settigs from Verizon support. As the app;lications avaialble for email are 3rd party developed we are unable to recommed a certain one. I would suggest scanning reviews on the App Store for each available app.
