Have you tried different or new chargers? And when did the issue start?

our original ones got frayed and no longer work.  Been buying USB charges from my local pharmacy.. Need a new one every 2-3 weeks.  I went to Verizon and bought a compatable one and right now I have my phone balanced on the garbage can with the cord strategically placed for it to charge.  The USB does not work pluged into a wall, however, the same cord does work in my car.

If the cord works in your car but not plugged into the wall, it is possible the plug you place in the wall is not supplying the correct voltage. Plugs from different manufacturers have different specs which may be different than what Apple requires.

It seems purchasing a new wall/travel charger direct from Apple or another legitimate supplier such as Belkin would be preferable than purchasing one from your local drugstore.

i did purchase one from Verizon.  It has the same issue.  It is a wall charger.  I am using the original wall plug that came with the apple and I also have one that I bought.  Neither is working.

Makes it sound like the charging port is damaged or loose.

My advice is use only an Apple charger. And make sure the lighning cable is MFi Certfied. Check the port for debris. And as stated, the port could be damaged.
