Does anyone know if it will be possible to use a monthly prepaid card with the upcoming Iphone 7 instead of a yearly contract?

So the Iphone 7 will be out eventually and I plan on upgrading to it. But as of right now I'm using the monthly prepaid cards instead of having a contract with Verizon. Will it be possible of me using my current sim card and continue to use the monthly prepaid cards or would i have to enter a contract?

You can pay for the device in full and use prepaid service.
