it is that simple, I cannot connect to iTunes, so I cannot sync my new phone.

Congratulations on your new device. Being able to sync your new device is a must. Can you please tell us why you are unable to connect to iTunes? If you have a PC please make sure you download iTunes and that the iTunes version is up to date. Here's where you need to go to download it. http://www.apple.com/itunes/
