@Klupammo

I want to ensure your Apple iPad Air 2 device is able to maintain a reliable WiFi connection.

When did this problem begin? What other type of devices are connecting to this same WiFi network? Do you get an error message when it drops connection? And how long after you’re connected does the WiFi connection drop? Please let me know so that I can further assist.

I Got this iPad Air 2 in December, 2015.  It has had this problem from the beginning.  I have another iPad Air 2 that stays connected all the time.  I got that iPad in July 2015.  I also have two android phones and a computer that use the same wifi with no issues at all.  We get no error messages when it drops.  There is no consistency with how and when the wifi drops off.  It also does not matter where it is (distance wise) in relation to the router.  The iPad Air 2 that drops wifi has the ability to use cellular data but we did make sure the cellular data is turned off along with the the auto data assist feature.  The iPad Air 2 that has no problems does Not have cellular capability.  That is the only difference that I know about.  Thank you for your assistance.

@Klupammo

Thanks for the additional information. Let’s take a closer look.

I understand you mentioned using the troubleshooting guide to try and resolve this issue. Do you mind telling me what steps you’ve completed in this troubleshooting guide: http://vz.to/20zEXkh? Can you also provide me your device’s current software version: http://vz.to/20zF92Z?

Hello,  I went through the troubleshooting guide you linked from start to finish and it did not solve the problem.  The current software version is,  iOS 9.2.1

Klupammo,

We appreciate you all the troubleshooting steps you have completed. We are determined to make sure we get your tablet connected to Wifi again. Does you iPad have any physical damage? Have you been able to complete a full factory reset?

No, there is no damage at all.  It has not been dropped and it is kept in a protective case.  We did a factory reset about two weeks ago.  We backed everything up to the cloud and followed the instructions on how to perform the reset.  I believe we did it twice.  This has been ongoing since I purchased the iPad for a present in December.  I have been trying to fix this since January and have tried many possible fixes listed around the Internet.  I was just told about this forum option a few days ago and figured I would give this a try as well.  Thanks.

   Klupammo, let me run a couple of things by you, if you haven't already looked at?

Are you connecting thru a router that may have a built in firewall that could be kicking out the iPad Air 2?

When it does lose the connection have you tried to Renew Lease in the Wi-Fi settings of the iPad?

Within the iOS 9.2.1 Settings > General > About what version of Modem Firmware is showing?

Klupammo,

You have definitely done a great job in troubleshooting your iPad. Typically after a factory reset a device will start to perform normally.  We will need to take a closer look at your iPad to determine the root cause of your issue.  I will go ahead and send a private message to better assist you.

Salisury, the wifi firmware is 4.52.00.  I did check firewall possibility.  I didn't think it was the problem but, why not check everything just in case.  No, I have not tried renew lease.  I will give it a shot.
