Iphone 7 trade In Program- Problem

I traded in my daughters Iphone 6 under the current promotion and purchased her an Iphone 7, believing I would receive $650 in credits over a two year period.  Her phone had a crack on the screen all the way on the bottom right hand corner but otherwise in great working condition. I received an email saying my credit would be $110 because of the crack...crazy!!  If I knew this would be the outcome, I would have replaced the screen in town for $75.  The net result would have been being out $75 and receiving $650 from VZW, instead I'm out $540.

How is Verizon allowed to arbitrarily devalue their promotional price by $540 for a cracked screen?  I'm sure tons of phones are coming in but how does VZW not contact you first if they are going to pay you less than 20% of the agreed price??  I would have happily taken the phone back if given the option and given it to my younger son instead of just buying him a new Iphone.  When I called customer service, they told me they couldn't return my phone.  The supervisor I spoke to recommended I send an email to customer service off the website...which I cant even find.

This is a disaster.  I have been a client for 20 years? and have 5 phones on my plan in addition to my home phone, internet and TV with Verizon.  I really amazed at this situation...anyone have advice?

$650 was more than the phone was worth and the promotion was only for working phones in good condition.  How someone could think a phone with a crack in the screen is in good condition is beyond explanation and wishful thinking.  It was stated the phone needed to be free of cracks.  This is a disaster of your own making.  Everything you are surprised at was indicated in the offer - free of cracks, ohine can't be returned once submitted, value reevaluated if phone is not in condition stated.  In fact, when you went to figure out value you were asked questions and one of those questions was specifically asking if there was any cracks.

Wow, that was as unhelpful as [Removed] and the hour and a half I wasted today.  Your response tells me you work for Verizon and it is exactly that attitude that upsets me. If my assistant responded to a loyal client like this ,they would be immediately escorted out the door.  If you don't work for VZW, then is this what you do for fun?  You are correct in that $650 was more than the phone was worth, however, with an investment of $75 to repair the screen...poof, VZW values it at $650 (clearly they have their own reasons to do a promotion like this).  Perhaps I was giving too much credit to Verizon for taking into account the screen can be repaired easily....which was the point of my post.

I don't work for Verizon, my only relationship with Verizon is I have cell service with them. I also used the trade in promotion, and clearly remember the cracked screen question I had to answer and clearly understanding the phone had to work and be undamaged. It was very clear.

The rules were clear,  why should someone else be responsible For fixing the screen.  You knew the phone was damaged.

All Verizon employees are clearly marked with VZW in the username.

Your upset because you didn't read the terms and conditions of the trade in.  You sent them a broken device, they gave you a credit for it.  It was your choice to send them a phone.  You did have the option to go into a store and get the value of the trade-in BEFORE you completed it.

I am totally with you that if you knew you would of spent the $75 to repair it and then trade it in.  Lesson learned to always read the terms and conditions and understand what you are doing before you do it.  This forum is a great resource and you also could of asked your question here and we would of been more than happy to help and provided you links to read all the info!

It was pretty clear in the offer that the screen had to be free of cracks? I screwed up but I'll blame it on someone else.........[Removed]
