Thanks for your help Salisbury. I thought today I would give it one more shot through Verizon since I bought my phone from them. However, it does look like my last choice is going through Apple.

I always recommend going through Apple for any issues versus going through Verizon. Not a knock on Verizon but with Apple, they make the device and are far better trained to diagnose most issues and if necessary immediately put you into a new device without having to wait for one to be shipped to you (unless you don't have a store in your area...then they have various options for you such as using one of their authorized repair facilities or shipping you a replacement). Hope you are able to get the issue resolved when you go to Apple!

Kaebfly, thanks for the suggestion of going to Apple. I really feel that may be the only way I can resolve this problem. Since nothing I do resolves the issue it has to be a device problem. I plan to go tomorrow. Will update as soon as I get this taken care of.

I read this thread rather quickly and don't recall seeing these recommendations, which Apple will for sure suggest / request you complete:

  • Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings - this will remove all saved Wi-Fi networks. In rare situations this has not only helped others but resolved some of my challenges. e.g. connecting at airport Wi-Fi networks etc. It is a basic step but worth a shot.. Apple will go to this first no doubt
  • Reset the device to vanilla and try it before restoring your device back from backup. This is non favorite as it requires you backup your device (iTunes or iCloud) and then restore it to factory. I did this last week on my device just for the heck of it and isn't the end of the world. Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings --- MAKE SURE FIRST TO BACKUP YOUR DEVICE VIA:
    • iTunes on a Mac/PC
    • iCloud: Settings > iCloud > Backup > Toggle iCloud Backup on

I agree going to Apple is the next best step after you have tried the above.. if you haven't already. Let us know and goog luck!

I know how important it is to connect to WiFi and minimize cellular data usage, Harriett. My resources indicate that this issue may be resolved by resetting network settings. Or the issue may be with the WiFi network and not the device. Please review this link from the manufacturer to confirm troubleshooting steps for WiFi connectivity issues: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204051
