Most have built in speakers. But most kids today will just use headphones/earplugs.

I would say just go old school and buy a clock radio. If that's not good enough for the kids then maybe they need a life lesson on doing without altogether like a lot of other kids do. It won't kill them. I know that sounds harsh and all, but my 3 kids all turned out great and graduated college etc. and they never had cellphones or computers or streaming media.
