This started after upgrading to the latest iOS 8. If someone leaves either of us a message. we are not aware of it until we call our voicemail. There is no alert or notice on the screen.
First check Settings>Sounds>New Voicemails> select an alert sound. Sometimes an update will mess up settings.
Next try Reset Network Settings:
Settings>General>Reset>Tap Reset Network Settings. You may need to enter your wifi passcode back in afterwards.
Start a new topic or ask questions in the open forum.
