The new OS9 software updates turns every app you have on your phone on.  The first day i downloaded the software i received a message that I had used 75% of my data plan.  This happen to be the day of my new billing cycle.   something is definitely wrong!!


There needs to be some kind of warning to check the cellular/data usage when the new software turns everything on gates wide open. I respectfully request and adjustment immediately

Certainly any software update should be exciting in the new features that will come with it, not a data concern, let's work on alleviating this concern. First off, I want to be sure that you were able to disable the cellular connection for the apps that don't need it. Please go to Settings>Cellular, listed are all the apps that will use cellular data and can be disabled from here. To make sure that the phone's usage doesn't cause overages, you can change you current data plan via your My Verizon account online. Sign in here www.vzw.com/myverizon

The damage is done....it sucked up 75% of my data the first day....  so i upped another GB.

This is a conspiracy to run up our bills  - Verizon should be watching these updates and warn us that the new software  turns everything on.

THIS GETS BETTER..... last night i noticed my home wifi was disconnect.   no wonder i used my entire two GB in 2 days.   I started getting notifications that i have never received. before.

I respectfully request an adjustment to my account.  Verizons revenue will increase this month because of this OS 9 update.   This is a class action suit waiting to happen!!   Please adjust my account immediately.

Software updates are supposed to be fun! What happened with your wifi? Was it toggled off? Did you have to reconnect to your router?

Turn off wifi assist. Settings >Cellular >scroll down to the bottom of the screen.

Exactly the updates are to be helpful.....NOT AN OPPORTUNITY FOR THE SYSTEM TO TURN EVERYTHING ON THAT UTILIZES THE MAXIMUM DATA USAGE.

This new software turned on notification and cellular usage of almost every app on my phone in addition to disconnecting my wifi at on my home system.  i have never used data like that before and Verizon should see that and credit my account 2 GB's.

I have it all set back to where i originally had it but the damage is done.  my data package blew up and the time it took to reset everything on my phone was ridiculous.   Makes me not want to do software updates anymore.  Hopefully Verizon will watch these updates and not capitalize on them.   Let me know when you will adjust my account........

Why would the software update change all my settings in the first place?   yes i have it fixed now....thank you but my data package is gone for the next 28 days on my billing cycle.

Did you download the update over WiFi? Your iPhone shows the size of the download before you start so if you chose to download a large file over cellular data it's not Verizon's fault.

Verizon needs to step up to the plate and send out a notice to users to check the setting that are being turned on with this new software update.   I have been a Verizon customer since 1992 (aka air touch) and i have never seen this happen before.  

I DOWNLOADED THE SOFTWARE AT HOME ON WIFI IN THE PREVIOUS BILLING CYCLE.   Yes I have all software and app updates to download only on wifi..... yes i know how this works.   The point is I still have NOT SEEN VERIZON send out a notice to verizon customer's to check these settings after the update.    

I know how to manage the data and this was a sneaky update by apple that turned everything on and verizon is capitalizing on it.

Please adjust my data package with a credit as respectfully requested before.   Didn't ATT have to payback millions of customers for some issue like this a while ago???
