Trying holding the home button and lock button simultaneously until the Apple logo appears on the screen to see if that helps.
Tried that. Still no response!
You may need to try a full restore (backup your device first) and if that doesn't work (and you're still under warranty) contact Apple either by visiting a local Apple Store or by phone/website.
