I completely disabled LTE. Try it. For iPhones do the following: Go to Settings>Cellular>Cellular Data Options>Enable LTE. You'll have three options:

1. Off

2. Voice & Data

3. Data Only

Choose "Off." I tried "Data Only," but I still missed calls. It may be slower, but slower is better than nothing.
