@thomasjh

It's great to hear that you have already made use of the Do Not Call list to report these spam calls. Have you been able to check out our Call Filter application? There is a free version available, as well as a premium edition that lets you automatically block calls that have been proven to match spam habits: https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/call-filter-faqs/#what

I agree the Federal Do Not Call Registry does not stop Robo calls.

Where is Verizon Wireless's concern about their customers?  It was stated  in March, 2019 " free spam alerting and call blocking tools to all of our wireless customers whose smartphones support these features"

There hasn't been any publication or notification from any of my friends or online. My respect for VW is diminishing.  They should be providing a Free service for their customer base.   OPTIMUM CABLE company announced a FREE service for their internet phone customers via NOMORABO.   Check it out ....  VW where is your service for WIRELESS  customers?????????????????????

Your feedback is appreciated, drizzo167.

Call Filter, previously named Caller Name ID, is a service that helps you take control of your calls by identifying unknown numbers by name or as spam, and gives you the tools to manage those calls as you choose. http://spr.ly/6600EUv5A

As of 5/28/2019, the spam filter will automatically be set to block high risk spam callers when new customers subscribe to the free or paid versions of Call Filter via the app. Learn how to block numbers with the Call Filter app here http://spr.ly/6602EUv5C

The FCC is working to combat this issue with robo callers as well, but the Call Filter is a start. http://spr.ly/6603EUv5h;

We hope this information is helpful.

Care?  Yes a

@sickofrobocalls wrote:

Verizon DEFINITELY cares about Robo-calls! That's why they developed an APP that you can PAY FOR every month. Verizon LOVES Robo-calls and they have now proven this with this conflict-of-interest / make-money-off-of-it-themselves APP-scam. So the more Robo-calls YOU get, the more likely you are to buy their APP!!!

So customer annoyance is a Money-Maker. So yes, they care...

nd they will charge you to care- Why not take the lead VERIZON and offer a FREE ROBO call blocking service. You already charge for everything else-

Looks like AT&T has their act togehter.  They are starting to block calls this week for new lines and then will stop for all existing lines over the next few weeks.  NO charge.

This answer is a lie!

Carriers CAN block robo calls.

AT&T does it automatically now. Most carriers offer it as an option.

Actually Philajimc your post is a lie! At&t does not automatically block robocalls. If they did, they'd be sued as MANY people depend on the use of legal Robocall services to receive vital and life saving information from their jobs, child's schools and reverse 911 services.

Even thier own website confirms this in the Robocall section. https://about.att.com/pages/cyberaware/ae/robocall

They do offer a free optional app that helps identify and block them, as does Verizon now.

Educate yourself... The more you know!
