Replace one iPad with another - Please help

This ought to be simple... I sold my iPad Air 2 to an online company. I forgot to remove the SIM card, but I have contacted them and they will dispose of it. I have bought a new iPad Pro 12.9 (cellular) on eBay. It had no Verizon SIM card (naturally). I had a Verizon SIM that I had taken out of an iPhone 5 before I sold it, so I put it in the new iPad to try it. I went to My Devices on my Verizon account and selected "Activate or Switch Device." I went through the first two steps, it says the SIM card works fine with my account, and then on the last step to activate it says go to "vz access manager" and select "activate." What in the world is vz access manager? Can someone help me replace the old iPad on my account with the new one? Thanks for any info.

Is this on a prepaid or postpaid account?

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
