This is so unprofessional.  My 11 year old doesn't get mail from the post office asking him to "**bleep** at my house".  These spam text messages do though.  It seems like many people are reporting it as spam, 7726 is my most used contact these days.  They also are mostly coming from gmail addresses.  There are multiple threads on this very subject.  It seems that blocking texts from email addresses doesn't work either. So none of the suggestions work, this is why people are getting so frustrated.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

We know it can frustrating when things don't work the way as intended. To clarify, that was not a link, but a path from the Verizon website. This page should give more clarity on the process: https://www.verizon.com/support/knowledge-base-200868/. I have personally used this method to block emails from text messages on my own phone recently. If you need further help with this, please let us know.

I have set up these blocks twice now on all of my accounts and yet I continue to receive these unsolicited porn texts.

I have spent 1 hour on a chat with a Verizon agent who was completely unhelpful told me that Verizon "actually have a high alerts regarding this Spam messages that our valued customers are getting.".

I am at a loss as to how to proceed?  Do I need to reach out to the media to gain more visibility to this issue?  It is unacceptable that as a customer I pay you to provide a service that does not work.

I have tried this process twice on all of my Verizon lines and yet the issue persists.  It appears that others are having the same issue and Verizon is NOT ADDRESSING THIS.

I know how important it is to protect yourself from unwanted messages. I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you are having. Which options did you try? Customers can block numbers for free using these steps here:https://www.verizon.com/support/knowledge-base-200867/ the next option is using Call Filter:https://www.verizon.com/support/call-filter-faqs/. This option offers SPAM protection and even a free trial to ensure that it's right for you. Outside of these options, we still offer number changes. The options available will depend on how you are being reached. Is everything going from website to cellular?

You aren't understanding the issue. It is easy to block a phone number but the text messages are coming from various gmail addresses, not phone numbers. I cannot block those messages on the phone I have.  And often the email address is a mile long - not feasible to have to type it in somewhere. We need an option that works the same way blocking numbers works. The call filter works well for me. Not perfectly but with caller ID I just don't answer if it comes up as an unknown number.  I can return a call if a VM is left.  But we need a fix for these nasty text messages coming from gmail.

We do have a full understanding of the issue that is going on. We continue to work on getting blocks in place for these messages. Unfortunately, the people creating these messages have made it their life mission to get around any blocks we put up. We have submitted feedback for this issue to our leadership team and they are aware. In the meantime, we recommend blocking the emails on your My Verizon and forwarding the text messages to 7726 so that an investigation can be done.

First of all whenever I forward one of these numbers I have to stop and figure out how to do it. I'm getting bombarded with these things and I can't keep up what have you done the last year verizon? It's worse now than it was last year.
